Outlook 2000 Outlook 2000 tries to connect to the internet even when already connected.
Outlook 2000 will try to connect to the internet when you try to send or receive email (even when already connected to the internet through a different dial up or DSL/Cable connection).

This behavior is on account of a setting in Outlook 2000.

  1. Tools menu in Outlook
  2. Accounts…
  3. Click on the account that has this behavior. If you are experiencing the same problem with all of your accounts, repeat the same steps for all of the accounts.
  4. Click on the Properties button and the Properties window will be displayed. Click on the Conection tab and make sure that the Local Area connection (LAN) option is selected.
  5. Click OK.
