There are two issues that need to be resolved before you can view attachments in place with Outlook XP.

Issue 1

Outlook XP blocks several attachment types by default. For more information on this and on how you can control what attachments are allowed please refer to the following links.

As far as eNetBot is concerned usual attachment types that are used when sending mail using eNetBot are .zip and .exe (.exe is used only if explicitly specified and not by default).

Issue 2

There is a bug with eNetBot 2.2 Build 1009 that causes attachments to be silently ignored by Outlook XP (It usually displays a message that says that an attachment was blocked).

This can be fixed by upgrading the latest version of eNetBot (currently in beta) eNetBot 2.2 Build 1010. Please note this file is a zipped file containing 2 files (enetbot.exe and ebpack.dll). Please download this zip file by clicking on the link above and extract these files into your eNetBot Mail install directory (This is normally C:Program FileseNetBoteNetBot Mail). Then start eNetBot Mail again for the changes to take effect.

Depending on your need you may also wish to address Issue 1 to allow Outlook XP to display and open attachments.

Microsoft Outlook sometimes has a time out problem when sending large files through eNetBot Mail. We are working on this problem.

This feature needs to be turned on through a setting in the eNetBot Tools menu >> Options dialog. Look in the network section for the option “Manage timeout when receiving large files

The attachment you are seeing (it should be a .zip file) is a version of the message that retains all rich formatting applied to it by the email client (and would be mangled by the mail server) if it wasnt sent as an attachment. That is why we have two copies of the message being sent out.

There is an option to turn this off in version 2.1 and later. Look under Tools >> Options menu. Make sure the “Always send in rich format” option is unchecked.

We have changed the format of the status messages (all messages appear in one line). This is to accomodate multiple sessions (the previous version supported only one session at a time). We are looking at ways to bring the detailed status messages back.
