The eNetBot Mode Page

eNetBot user Interface :  The eNetBot Mode Page

The eNetBot Mode page provides the user with the ability to choose to run eNetBot Mail in two different modes:

1. Workstation mode

This mode is the default mode of operation. The eNetBot Mail server application will only be accessible to clients running on the same PC.

2. Personal Server Mode – More information available here

The personal server mode enables applications (POP3 compliant mail clients) on any machine with access to the internet to access the eNetBot Mail server on your PC. This is meant to be a personal tool for users with hand held devices and other appliances or if you want to read your AOL mail from another PC.

If you use multiple clients to read your email, say one at work and one at home, then you might also benefit from using server mode. One important restriction when working with server mode is that the account should not be accessed from AOL directly. If you do have to access the account from AOL, then you have to ensure that all mail is left in the same state as you saw it. There should be no deletes and you should select all the messages in the new mail tab and do a ‘Keep as new’ operation. You can however delete mail from the other folders (read and sent mail). You have to keep this in mind or the eNetBot server may not function as expected. Accessing and editing your mail directly from AOL when in server mode is akin to editing a POP server’s mailbox directly. In short don’t do it!

Note: Always select the leave messages on server option selected in the mail client when using eNetBot Mail in Personal Server Mode. If this option is not selected, the mail client will receive the same messages multiple times. Look in the individual mail client settings information for more info.

In case you see multiple IP addresses listed in this tab, it means that your PC has more than one IP address. You have to try hem out with the remote client to get the correct one.
